Tashkent City Open Championships 2025

The Open Championship of Tashkent City was successfully held on April 26, 2025, at the Ministry of Internal Affairs Sports Complex, gathering more than 300 athletes from across Uzbekistan and neighboring countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and other CIS nations.

The event was conducted under the regulations of ITF Taekwondo and Kombat Taekwondo (KT). Competitors ranged in age from 6-year-old children to juniors, youth, and adults. The primary objectives were to provide high-level competition experience, strengthen unity among federations, and promote the development of both traditional and professional branches of Taekwondo.

One of the main highlights was the amateur team battles in Kombat Taekwondo, held in the dynamic “wall-to-wall” format: teams of five fighters, each from a different weight category, competed in an energetic and tactical showdown. The thrilling contest ended in a dramatic 5:5 draw, drawing loud applause from the audience. All participants received KT medals, commemorative statuettes, and special prizes in recognition of their effort and performance.

Kombat Taekwondo Uzbekistan extends its heartfelt thanks to all athletes, coaches, referees, and organizers for their professionalism and dedication to the martial arts community. In light of the growing interest from both practitioners and fans, plans are already in motion to launch professional Kombat Taekwondo events in Uzbekistan. Promotion and development activities are underway, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the sport in the region.
